Wednesday June 28th, 2017:
Late this afternoon we received an emergency request from an animal control authority to provide emergency care for a juvenile (9-10 months old) Labrador Retriever – HBC (Hit-BY-Car).
“Valor” has some nasty road rash, is emaciated, and has open fractures requiring immediate emergency care.
Our Animal Welfare team was quickly on the road to retrieve him and delivered him to one of our Veterinary partners to begin care.
Valor is precisely the definition of “Emergency Medical Special Needs” and these cases require swift action, thorough care to mitigate further suffering, and rapid support to alleviate pain and begin the healing process.
